PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Assist in the leadership of the software engineering technical team
- Work closely with the entire team to define the software solution. This includes in-depth technical analysis of methodology.
- Work closely with project leader/management to ensure development meets or exceeds customer requirements. This includes ensuring that product designs are well documented and communicated.
- Provide sound decision making for software engineering and product development, sensitive to the constraints and needs of the business
- Drive overall architecture, security and certifications of software products
- Monitor technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities
- Assist with employee development and teambuilding
- Assist with employee coaching and mentoring to younger less able members of the team
- BSc Computer Science or science based required (Essential)
- Minimum of 2 Years software architecture and/or engineering required (Essential)
- Experience with .NET platforms required – C# (Essential)
- Past experience in AJAX and Microsoft SQL Server (Essential)
- Experience with networking architecture and protocols such as SMTP, HTTP, SOAP, SOA-Web Services. (Essential)
- Experience with secure coding practices, thread modelling, vulnerability assessment
- Experience with developing and delivering commercial/enterprise software (An advantage but not essential).
- Knowledge of PHP/MySql /jQuery (An advantage but not essential)
- Strong work ethic – someone who loves to “crank” out the great work and takes great pride in professionalism, responsibility, and pro-activeness.
- Excellent people skills. Ability to recruit, motivate and help lead a young up and coming team.
- Strong product development and engineering skills.
- Strong communications skills, both in writing and speaking. Ability to excite and motivate employees, partner and customers with a compelling vision
- Good understanding of the software business and its practices
- Good organisational and time management skills
